At the 2021 Cannes Yachting Festival, Lagoon and the photography and film production company Escape to Nature entered into a partnership.
Their common desire is to promote actions in favor of a cleaner maritime world and more environmentally friendly boating activities.
Focus on Escape to Nature
Escape to Nature is a production company that was founded in 2008 with a project for a series of documentary films. Their films have won over not only regular viewers, but also juries of major film festivals who have awarded them over a hundred prizes.
The Lagoon 55 is the boat that’s been chosen to accompany the Escape to Nature team on their adventure. They will be sailing from Brisbane (Australia) to Melanesia in the Pacific to shoot a complete series of several exclusive films over the course of 5 years.
Why the Lagoon 55?
For their upcoming Escape to Pacific project, Escape to Nature has chosen the newest Lagoon 55 as a key partner of their project. Thanks to their state-of-the-art Lagoon 55 catamaran, the crew members will benefit from the total autonomy they need to spend long periods in the Pacific Ocean, with full independence from port moorings.
The Lagoon 55 is the perfect boat to discover unexplored areas of the world, as the Escape to Nature team will be doing. During the adventure, this catamaran will be a comfortable home to its team for at least eight months per year in remote areas where the usual support from the "civilized" mainland would be difficult.
Filming this human adventure and sharing scientific data with the public is a good way to raise awareness about the beauty of our planet and the areas threatened by climate change.
In total respect of its environment and local population, the Escape to Nature team will work to contribute to protecting the oceans, coral reefs and all underwater life through enlightening films: shots of wildlife, stories of their own and in-depth interviews with people in the most remote parts of the Earth.
