The ARC 2017: The results

This year, the ARC celebrates its 32nd edition. This rally offers to the sailors from all over the world to sail through the Atlantic and gives them assistance, security and services for a transoceanic trip.

Lagoon catamarans represent more than one third of the fleet of the event: with 10 catamarans for the crossing on the ARC (route from Canaries to Caribbean) and 9 catamarans registered at the ARC + (route from Cape Verde to Caribbean).

At the ARC, two Lagoon catamarans are on the elapsed time podium, in the category of the multihull under 45 feet:

Barefoot, a German 42 at the 2nd place

Susan Ann II, a British 450 S at the 3rd place.

At the ARC+, two Lagoon catamarans are on the elapsed time podium too:

Surfinn, an Australian 450 F at the 2nd place

Buena Vista, a Japanese 42 at the 3rd place.

Lagoon is well known as THE brand of cruising catamarans. Everybody think that they are just able to sail near the coasts, for example around the Croatian coasts or for a Caribbean trip. Nevertheless, the Lagoon owners demonstrate “in live”, by participating at the ARC and ARC+, that their boats are not only good for coastal cruising. Indeed, the Lagoon catamarans are thought, drawn and built with in mind to sail also across oceans. On top, they are able to sail with an important load, corresponding to the needed equipment for long passages and still stay performant, which is essential for blue water cruising.

Partner of the ARC for 12 years, Lagoon looks forward to seeing all the multihull owners at the 33rd edition, which will take place in November 25 th, 2018!
