The first Lagoon Escapade in British Columbia was organized by Fraser Yachts, the Lagoon dealer for B.C., from July 22 to 24.
6 Canadian and American boats were met in beautiful Victoria harbor marina on Friday afternoon by the Fraser Yachts staff and Lana Lohe, sales and marketing coordinator for Lagoon America. Everyone then met on the « Host Lagoon 400 » for socializing and getting to know each other, with some appetizers and of course… « Blue Lagoon » drinks !
On Saturday morning, all participants gathered at the host boat to go to breakfast together (in turquoise tee shirts) at a very nice bistro on the water.
Everyone met at the boats at 1pm to cast off for the Lagoon sail and photo shoot, including two Lagoon 450 owners who had not received their boats yet.
Even though their was very little wind, a friend of Scott Macdonald’s (from Fraser Yachts) kindly took a participant for a fly over the fleet in his sea plane to take some pictures.
Several boats turned up their music and their was dancing and singing on all Lagoons on the way back to beautiful Victoria...
Back in the marina, it was prizegiving time for all, with Gill jackets, EPIRBs, deck chairs tee shirts and sweat shirts…
At 7pm everyone walked to the restaurant where a reservation had been made for a VERY nice dinner. Jean-Louis Chaput, deputy General Manager of CNB-Lagoon, had come all the way from France to charter a Lagoon 400 and joined the dinner with his wife and some friends.
After dinner, the Utschneider family from Seattle hosted a memorable party for all participants onboard Sophie, their Lagoon 500.
Sunday morning a continental breakfast was delivered to the docks for a farewell to all Lagoon friends.
In fact, 2 boats were planning to sail together after meeting each other at the rendezvous and finding that they were both on a 2 week holiday.

A 21 Lagoon catamarans fleet met in Porquerolles from the17th through the 19th of June for the pleasure of sailing, discovering or enjoying again the wild beauty of the « Iles d’Or », and above all for the simple pleasure of sharing some good times.
This 2nd edition of the Lagoon Escapade was organized in partnership with Raymarine and SGB Finance.

On Friday night, all crews met at the Domaine de Perzinsky for a cocktail/dining party. On Saturday, a beautiful weather allowed all participants to sail around Porquerolles going west, around the Petit and the Grand Langoustiers, then past the magnificent Petit and Grand Sarranier rocks. On Sunday, 40 knots + wind gusts cut off any sailing desire: instead, bicycle rides or strolls around the island became quite popular, but not as much as the pleasure of visiting from one Lagoon to another, which allowed to better know each other, spend some good time and create new ties of friendship.
See you next year at the latest !
The Lagoon Escapade in the swiss magazine SKIPPERS.

The 31st Ariane’s Cup was raced this year in Martinique, from May 17 to 25.
With 77 entrants, the Ariane’s cup has to be the biggest cruising catamarans race in the world, and with 25 boats on the start line, Lagoons represented around one third of the total fleet.
This round Martinique race allowed Lagoons to show once again their sea going qualities, and gave crews coming from various parts of the world the opportunity to demonstrate their sailing talents.
Overall results :
• 1st and 2nd: Lagoon 440 Anegada (CELAR) & Cajou VI (DAIMLER)
• 4th: Lagoon 400 Archaron (ESA ESTEC)
• 6 Lagoons in the top 10 boats and...11 Lagoons in the top 15 boats!
Comfort definitely does not exclude sailing performance…

Australian Lagoon owners met this past Nov. 20 on the starting line of the first Lagoon cup in Australia, organized by VICSAIL , the Lagoon distributor in Sydney.
2 courses were organized in one day on magnificent Sydney Bay under ideal conditions: 12 to 15 knots in the morning, 20 to 25 knots in the afternoon, under a beautiful sunshine and with a 35° C. temperature!
A simple but busy programme:
- The boats departed from the famous Cruising Yacht Club of Australia at 10:30 after a Skippers briefing and breakfast at the club
- The morning race was won by the Lagoon 380 "Team Vicsail", with many VIP guests onboard
- Around mid day all boats anchored in a bay to enjoy a Vicsail offered lunch
- In the afternoon, "Talon", a Lagoon 410 won the second race and was presented a purchase coupon for $500 by Rivers Quay ( a Sydney based company specialized in deck fittings and boats maintenance)
- And of course, the day ended around the unmissable australian "barbie", along with a show by Brazilian dancers who had been invited for the event.
Some comments from participants: "a fantastic day...I will be back next year with some friends"..."one of the most beautiful days in my life...I'll be back next year - if the brazilian dancers are here as well!"
Lagoon distributors organized owners meetings are usually successfull, but it seems that the Lagoon cup in Sydney has set a new standard...2010 can't get here soon enough!
