LAGOON has distinguished itself since the beginning in the construction of racing sailboats, both multihull and monohull, sail as well as power. In the open multihull class, LAGOON has not only built the FLEURY MICHONs series for Philippe Poupon ( VII through XI), but also R.M.O. (PRIMAGAZ) and the famous PIERRE Ier (LAKOTA). Record transatlantic crossings such as the Route du Rhum 90 where the multihulls PIERRE Ier, FLEURY MICHON IX, and R.M.O. finished first, second, and third were followed by other victories, establishing the best overall record ever in offshore racing.
In the monohull category, extending from the Globe Challenger to the One Ton class as well as the ILC 40, the America's Cup, to most recently the Mini-Transat exploits of Sebastian Magnen while supported by LAGOON, the company has risen to the top with its know-how and technical prowess, never hesitating to invest in the development of new techniques whose application trickles down to the cruising sailboat level.
In this way, Lagoon proposes the construction of 70' custom catamarans in aluminium or composite
The allure of beautiful and carefully manufactured objects, the constant research for new technological applications, the consistent attention to reliablility - these are all qualities that enable Lagoon to offer to their most demanding customers a build-to-order capability to exclusive (equipment, layout, decoration) specifications.
Thanks to this internationally-renowned reputation, LAGOON was asked to work on exclusive project such as the building of the trimarans for the movie Waterworld...
